My favorite fair trade outfit for frolicking into fall

The Doug Funny Lifestyle

If I could wear one outfit for the rest of my life it would likely be a jumpsuit. When I say jumpsuits, I’m talking about anything that has that one-piece, easily pulled on vibe. They could be short-sleeved, long-sleeved, overalls and the like. When it comes to jumpsuits, I’m all about that Doug Funny life. Remember him… in case I just dated myself, Doug Funny was a fictional cartoon character that wore the same outfit every.single.day. Even when he opened his closet, 10 of the same red shorts and green top were hanging in there. Doug’s outfit was a little boring if I do say so myself but luckily jumpsuits don’t have to be!

Jumpsuits are playful, versatile and perfect for bouncing around the city. You can ride a bike in it or you can jazz it up with jewelry and heels and wear it out.. if we ever do that again. Below is one of my favorite fair trade outfits that is perfect for frolicking into fall plus details about why I love this brand!

Some important terms to know:

  • Fair Trade is an agreement made to do business in a way that supports the producers of a product. I like this straightforward definition provided by Traidcraft: “Fair trade is when producers in developing countries are paid a fair price for their work, by companies in developed countries. It’s when the price we pay for products gives enough to producers for them to afford life’s essentials – like food, education and healthcare.”
  • Ethically made means a product was made in a way that ensured its producers had good, healthy working environments, wages not only fair but above average, and no child or forced labor.
  • Sustainable means that a product or brand is being made with the environment and long term impact on the planet in mind. Materials or processes involved are mindful of available resources and approached in a way that tries to eliminate excess waste or not deplete available resources for future generations.

The jumpsuit I j’adore

The jumpsuit I’m j’adoring right now is the Helena Overalls from Yes And. Yes And is a socially responsible, super stylish brand founded by Marci Zaroff. Their entire line of clothing is “unapologetically conscious to the core.” The Helena Overalls are certified organic, low-impact dyed, and ethically made.

Yes And

This Indigo Jumpsuit… does not. come off. my body. Take a peek at my Instagram for a few moments and you’ll see, I ain’t lyin’! It’s SO comfortable, so cute and you can dress it up or down! It’s basically glorified PJ’s and I mean, who isn’t about that life.

Here’s the thing to remember about buying responsibly made clothing, it doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style! We can still look cute as heck, out on the town and feel good about what we’re wearing. But the cool thing is, you don’t just feel good because you know look cute, you feel good because you know you made a purchase that positively impacts the lives of other people. When you shop at Yes And, you become part of a purchasing cycle that has a bigger ripple effect to change the way we look at fashion all together.

Hope to see you out frolicking in a super cute jumpsuit soon! Let me know in the comments what you think and what you’re go to outfit is!
